This guide walks you through the full process of adding a new Instagram account to Clianta, from profile creation to your first automated DM.

Before you start

You’ll need:
  • An Instagram account (new or existing)
  • A dedicated residential proxy for this account
  • A Clianta account (any plan)

Step-by-step setup

1

Create a group (if you haven't already)

Click + New Group in the sidebar and name it. Groups organize your accounts and share outreach settings.
2

Add a new profile

Inside your group’s Accounts tab, click + Add AccountCreate New Account. Choose the operating system (macOS or Windows) for the browser fingerprint — pick the OS of the computer where you’ll use the desktop app. The rest of the fingerprint is generated automatically.
3

Set up the proxy

Go to the account’s Proxy & Geo tab:
  1. Enter your proxy URL (protocol://user:pass@host:port)
  2. Select the proxy’s country
  3. Click Test Proxy to verify it works
Always set up the proxy before logging in for the first time. This establishes the account’s “home location” from the start.
4

Log in to Instagram

Choose one of two methods:
  1. Open the Clianta desktop app
  2. Click Launch on your account
  3. Log in to Instagram normally in the browser
  4. Complete any verification prompts
  5. Close the browser — your session is saved automatically
  6. Confirm the connection in the wizard by entering the Instagram username you used
5

Enable warmup

Go to the account’s Warmup & Ramp section:
  1. Enable Ramp-Up
  2. Choose the Safe template (recommended for new accounts)
  3. Set duration to 14 days
  4. Choose Auto-source for me for warmup leads
Don’t skip this step. Warmup dramatically reduces the risk of your account being flagged.
6

Configure outreach

In your group’s Outreach tab:
  1. Write 2–3 initial message variants with placeholders
  2. Set up follow-up messages and delays
  3. Enable AI follow-ups if you have a paid plan
7

Set up AI Persona (optional)

In your group’s Outreach tab → AI Configuration:
  1. Fill in agent name, role, and writing style
  2. Add your business info and goal
  3. Configure handover triggers

8

Add real leads

Once warmup completes (7–14 days), add your target leads:
  1. Go to your group’s Leads tab
  2. Use Lead Sourcing to find leads automatically, or import them manually
9

Move to cloud (optional)

For 24/7 automation without keeping your computer on:
  1. Go to the account’s General tab
  2. Enter credentials if you haven’t already
  3. Click Move to Cloud
